Should I update all of my estate planning documents to specify that I am a resident of the state of Florida?

You should definitely update your documents to indicate you are a resident of the state and more importantly, a resident of a specific county within the state. I do a lot of ancillary estates from other states including Pennsylvania and many times the documents indicate that that person is a resident of a county not associated with the state of Florida and also their death certificate indicates that they were a resident of another state. Those two issues create a lot of problems and cost a lot of time and money which can be avoided by updating all of your documents indicating you are a resident and have been a resident of the state of Florida.
